Kitsum Li, OTD, OTR/L, received her first degree in Occupational Therapy from Hong Kong in 1986, and her advanced OTD degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2005. For the past 15 years, she has been working in a variety of community and home-based programs. Being a strong supporter of evidence-based practice, she firmly believes that this is an exciting time for all practicing healthcare professionals to excel their practices, through the best evidence available, for the benefit of the care of their individual patients. Kitsum has been actively involved in the implementation of the “integrated fall prevention” program in both homecare and hospital settings. In addition to being an active member in the San Mateo County Fall Prevention Task Force, she also frequently participates in a variety of community-based “fall risk screening program” as well as educational seminars to older adults.
In April 2006, she presented “An evidence-based fall risks reduction program” in the Occupational Therapy California Association (OTAC)- Spring Fling program. She is also the co-author of the poster presentation title “A Lifestyle Fall Prevention Program: Role of the Occupational Therapist” in OTAC annual conference October 2006. In addition, she is also one of the guest speakers in “Home Health Panel” in CPTA annual conference in September 2007. |
