Course Description:
A highly practical course that provides expert tuition in the application of rigid and elastic strapping tape for sports injuries and rehabilitation patients. Upper limb, Lower limb and spinal techniques will be demonstrated, discussed and practiced all in this 1-day course. Learn how to effectively apply taping techniques with a biomechanical focus. Skin safety, whilst maintaining adequate tape tension, is a major topic of this course.
Techniques covered include:
Lower Limb - Ankle inversion / eversion sprains - Achilles tendinopathy - Anti-pronation techniques - Patellofemoral pain - Patella tendinopathy options - Soft tissue unloading techniques for pain
Upper Limb - Shoulder instability techniques - Supraspinatus and anti-impingement techniques of the shoulder - Acromio-clavicular joint injuries - Tennis elbow options - Thumb ligamentous sprains
Spinal - Cervico-thoracic spine post whiplash injury - Thoracic spine postural / extension techniques - Lumbar spine discal injury
Program Objectives:
At the COMPLETION of this course, participants should be able to:
- Understand the common clinical and sporting use of both rigid and elastic taping products in the prevention and management of common musculo-skeletal injuries
- Understand specific taping requirements for the sporting population
- Compare and contrast various taping products and tape application techniques
- Understand the biomechanical basis of effective taping techniques
- Effectively perform 15 sports and rehabilitative taping techniques for all major regions of the body
- Recognize, prevent and manage common skin reactions to tape.
- Optimize skin safety during tape application

Speaker:
Andrew Hughes, PT a leading private Sports Physical Therapists from Sydney, Australia, has presented this course throughout many countries over the last 10 years. Andrew was a member of the Australian Olympic Team in Sydney 2000, has been the Chief Physical Therapist to the Australian Mens Volleyball Team since 1990 and is a Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation.

Registration Deadline
The registration deadline for all courses is three weeks prior to the start of the course. All registrations must be postmarked or received three weeks prior to the course date, if received after the registration deadline, a $25.00 Late Fee will be applied to the registration fee.

For every 5 people that sign up for the same seminar, we will give that group one complimentary spot.
How Do We Sign-Up and Qualify for the Free Spot?
In order to qualify for this discount, we must receive all six completed registration forms with the appropriate payment for the five spots. If you want to mail in the completed forms, you must mail all six forms in the same envelope. If you want to fax in the forms, you must fax all six forms at the same time.
Please note that there will be no exceptions granted. We must receive everything at once in order to process these registration forms under the group discount policy.
Refund and Cancellation Policies:
California Education Connection reserves the right to cancel this seminar due to an insufficient number of registrants. Under these circumstances, a full refund in the form of a check will be addressed and mailed to the registered participant. Please note that California Education Connection is not responsible for any hotel, airline or other expenses incurred.
All cancellations by registered participant must be dated and submitted in writing. For cancellations received 14 days or more before the seminar date, the registration fee will be returned less a $50.00 administrative fee. A refund in the form of a check will be mailed to the registered participant.
