This course is designed to augment a teacher’s understanding
of the Pilates movement principles- incorporating breath, core activation and
movement sequences. In addition,
instruction in fundamental anatomy will be discussed so that the movement
educator will have a deeper understanding of how it relates to the Pilates
repertoire.
Participants will be educated in how to recognize postural
deviation and mal-alignments in their clients during exercise execution. Varying facilitation techniques to enhance
muscular control and counteract asymmetrical movement patterns will also be
utilized. Specific exercise selection
will be discussed for those individuals that require modifications or enhancement
for their training.
