Continuing Education Approval Agency for
Physical Therapy Licensees in the State of California

The Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC) recognizes California Education Connection (CEC) as an Approval Agency to Approve Providers of Continuing Competency Courses in California.

The CEC Approval Agency allows individuals and sponsored providers to apply for Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit for appropriate program(s).

A Continuing Education Application must be completed in order for PTs and PTAs to get CEU credit in the State of California for purposes of licensure renewal. Course approval from other states, agencies or associations does not take the place of this approval.

It is strongly recommended that anyone planning to apply for Continuing Education Units read the continuing competency requirements set forth in order to have an understanding of what criteria is used when applications are reviewed.
