The older adult population is growing, living longer and are leading increasingly active lifestyles. Yet, due to intrinsic and extrinsic factors, they are at risk for falls. The physical, emotional and financial costs of an accidental fall in the elderly can be overwhelming. Studies have shown that effective fall prevention programs can decrease falls and injury by as much as 30-50%. This 1-day course is designed for all healthcare professionals that work with community dwelling as well as institutionalized elderly. Come and learn about how to implement a multi-factorials and integrated fall risk reduction program at various level of care. This is an intermediate course level.
